Lane knows me from work at USAID but I met Rabi's mother only briefly after the Mass at St. Michael's last year. I did not know Rabi, but was privileged to find out about him through the words of his family and friends at the funeral service. I was very moved by the tribute to Rabi in yesterday's Washington Post and by the phone of a handsome young man I never knew. I want Lane and his wife to know that they have often been in my thoughts this past year and I hope they are able to continue their work to remind those of us who did not know Rabi of how singular and special a boy/young man he was.
I thank you for allowing us to share in this knowledge and in grieving with you over his loss. Most of all, please know how wonderful you make us feel by allowing us to get to know Rabi and share in his life, so tragically shortened a year ago yesterday.
